Community Outreach

ICHS works to instruct the public on social and humanitarian services; provide relief to the poor, distressed and underprivileged communities; promote social welfare designed to eliminate prejudice and discrimination; and combat community deterioration.

We will further our purpose by informing individuals about various educational, health care and housing assistance programs already in existence as well as new services that ICHS offers. ICHS will serve partly as a resource for the public to learn about different ways to improve quality of life and partly as a provider of life-improvement social services.

We take our message of education directly to the people who need to know of the opportunities available to them. We reach out to low income families and individuals, immigrants, single mothers and all other underprivileged segments of the population through education and raising awareness of opportunities for education, health care and housing assistance available under the law.

Through the consolidation of social, health care and financial resources we facilitate and guide these resources more effectively to eliminate global poverty and poverty-related issues. Moreover, our program will develop an understanding of race issues, immigrants, and cultural and religious stereotypes among various members of the community, through a positive exchange. ICHS works to create a more peaceful and unified community.

Join us at our monthly meetings to participate in local education and exchange!

Cultural Exchange

ICHS, International Community for Human Services is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of poverty, educational opportunities, values of diversity, and the importance of respect for human rights for equality, unity, peace, mutual religious tolerance and development among underserved American and African Communities.

Despite enormous economic and technological advancements around the world, impoverished and underprivileged people live in communities without access to the most basic life sustaining services. Millions of poor people worldwide endure segregation, military and political conflict, urban violence, spousal and child abuse, inhuman working conditions, and an over-all worsening in quality of life. Today gross social and economic disparities exist between those in the Global North who have access to basic survival tools and the underserved and underrepresented people of the Global South.

The mission of ICHS is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable individuals through educational and cultural exchange programs. These programs will increase access to higher education, promote and advance human rights, and provide support and assistance to at-risk communities. ICHS community outreach programs include conferences to raise awareness about living and working conditions of the underserved populations of Africa and the United States, educational scholarship programs, HIV/AIDS educational initiatives, other health services, and cultural exchange programs between the United States and Africa. We are dedicated to uniting people of all cultures through common experience and discovery, and building awareness and understanding of the world’s religious, social, political, and ethnic traditions as a means to combat global poverty.

ICHS is organizing an Educational and Cultural Exchange Program ECEP to Africa.
Africa being a continent of multiple languages, cultures and arts, participating in this program is a key element to understand how culture, language and art can help to understand people’s life, behavior and shape our differences. Participants will build groups of research and understanding focused on Africa’s unique cultural heritage and human needs.

The educational and cultural exchange program participants will travel as a group to and from a diverse set of host countries (African or America/Europe?)
The objectives of our educational and cultural exchange program is to provide both American and African communities with unique and personal exchange opportunities that will inspire mutual respect, and increase cultural understanding and personal growth for development and human rights.

The program is designed to create mutual experiences of different cultures, team building, and sharing visions on unity and peace through education and tolerance of multiple religions.
The program aims to explore issues related to African poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS prevention, education for development, gender equity, environment and ethics of development and food security as well as religious impact on African nations’ development. Furthermore, the program will be an open door to social scientists to pursue research on cultural, economic and sociopolitical attitudes in African countries. This program will enhance and accelerate personal development to maturity, tolerance of diversity and facilitate cultural exchange between Africans and people from other countries. It will broaden their understanding of different aspects of both African and American communities. It will also expand social and cultural awareness of participants from communities and explore negative stereotypes about Africa and/or USA as well as encourage relationships between the two communities from the same world and living in different cultural and socio-economic background.

Most importantly, it will open and raise awareness of African colonial history and of contemporary cultural similarity and diversity. To sum up, the program will give participants a greater exploration and understanding of Africa’s cultural, ethno-religious and linguistic diversity.
